When Zithabiso Nkomo first met Inkanyezi Development Trust, working under SWRGN in 2018,
she had no idea how deeply their work would reshape her community.
“They taught us community development and encouraged us to do things for ourselves,” she
explains.

One of the most successful initiatives was the grocery club—a savings group that continues to
thrive. “As we approach Christmas, our children have enough food because of this project.”
Farming trainings improved food security, but perhaps the most profound impact was social.
“Men now understand that women can contribute to development,” she says. “We can buy live
stock, pay school fees, and support our families.”
Girls in the village now attend school confidently, and households are more peaceful and united.
“Inkanyezi changed our homes, strengthened our families, and empowered us as women.”
“We now teach men about sanitary wear.”
